As a Scout Leader, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting young people aged 10.5 to 14 in their Scouting journey. You will work with a team of volunteers, plan and deliver engaging activities, and foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the Scout troop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and deliver a balanced program of activities that promote personal development, teamwork, and outdoor skills.
- Lead and inspire young people, encouraging them to participate fully and develop their confidence and leadership abilities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by adhering to Scout Association policies and procedures.
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes equality.
- Work collaboratively with other volunteer leaders to support the overall goals of the Scout group.
- Engage with parents and the local community to promote Scouting and encourage participation.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and any incidents that occur during meetings or events.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your leadership skills and knowledge of Scouting.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Passion for working with young people and a commitment to their development.
- Leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships with young people, parents, and volunteers.
- Organisational skills and the ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
- A willingness to undergo a background check and complete necessary training (including safeguarding and first aid).

Time Commitments:
- Ideally, you’d volunteer once a week on a Thursday evening plus occasional planning/preperation in your own time.
- If you can’t commit regularly, we can still offer flexible volunteering, working around your other commitments. This could be monthly or even just on camps.
